Well these photos have mostly been taken that last few years while working in I-comm. I have been blessed to have access to such nice equipment and have one on one teaching time. Looking through all of my past photos I can see how my work has improved and I enjoy seeing that growth in me.

Title: Talk Talk
Aperture: f/2.5
Shutter Speed: 1/125
ISO: 125
Date-Time-Place taken: 5/25/11, 7:23 PM, Bannack Montana Ghost Town
All Edits: For this I softened/smoothed the skin, by painting on an opaque skin tone on her cheeks, I also used the band-aid tool to take away any bigger blemishes, Then i used the dodge tool to lighten her eyes.
Comments or story: At this photo shoot we were just playing around with different props. For this shot the model had a phone and was talking very animated like on it, it reminded me like she was calling her friends to go to a party with her.

To the Window to the Wall

Title: To the Window to the Wall
Date/Time/Location: 5/25/2011; 1:30pm; Bannack Montana
Settings: Cannon T2i; f/4.5; 1/400 sec
Edit: Basically I did all of the Edits in Camera Raw. I changed it to black and white and then played with the different saturation options. Then I had to add the 2 inch border and that was done in Photo shop doing cutting and cloning. Then I darkened the windows using a black brush and lowering the opacity.
Process: I am a minimalist so I made it a very simple poster. Because the poster was such a dramatic size I made the subject matter really simple. It looked really cool as a color print but I like the black and white because it would match things better in my house. I thought it was funny that it was a picture of a window that would be hung on walls next to real windows. That sounds silly but it is kinda like a fake window. I also really like that I made it a canvas print because that adds to the minimalist idea.

Orderly Pick-up Sticks

Orderly Pick-up Sticks: 06-4-11; Spori Lab; Epson Scanner 4490 Photo

For this picture I was trying to depict Pick=up Sticks the game in an orderly manner. It is suppose to be ironic because the sticks usually go where ever they want but here I confined them to a rectangle. I liked using the scanner because of its shallow depth of field. I never new that scannography was a real thing. It amazes me how creative people can be sometimes.

I really enjoyed the Bannack Trip. I am gonna be honest, I thought that I was gonna be really bored being there all day long. But, it was so fun. I had fun meeting new friends and helping each other get awesome photos. I just love how nice and helpful everyone at BYU- Idaho is. Also, I came away with a whole bunch of really great shots. I learned that I really like doing portraits and I love that I had so many models to practice on. I took over 1000 photos. I wish that I could post all of them that I love but I really need to go to sleep. Enjoy!

The HDR program is pretty neat. I am still trying to figure out how to use it to the best that I can. I feel like the photos that I edited, I made them extremely edited and that usually is not my style. Some people are really talented at Using HDR, but I don’t think that I am one of them yet.

Texture

1. Texture: 05-25-11; Bannack, Montana; f/2.5; 1/320; Canon T1i; M

This one started out as just me messing around. I didn’t expected it to turn out as cool as it did. The Texture is from one of the desks in the school house. The bottle was a prop that someone brought and I got the picture in the saloon, I like that you can see the pitcher blurred out behind it. Also, I made it sepia so that it didn’t seem as busy and it give a rustic feel to it.

HayWire
1. Hay: 05-25-11; Bannack, Montana; f/1.8; 1/400; Canon T1i; Av
2. Wire: 05-25-11; Bannack Montana; f/1.8; 1/320; Canon T1i; Av

I was kind of amazed by these photos. The focus completely changed the turn out of the picture. The first one really made the wire disappear and then the second one just made the hay look like and orange background.neat.

Sitting GhostPuddle Jumping
1. Sitting Ghost: 05-25-11; Bannack, Montana; f/29; 6″; Canon T1i; Av
2. Puddle Jumping: 05-25-11; Bannack Montana; f/5; 1/4000; Canon T1i; M

These were really fun photos. The ghost one turned out really well after a few practice tries and then I learn how to move super fast so there was no blurry lines. The puddle jumping one was awesome, and I made sure that my shutter was all the way up so that I could get the water looking very crisp. But I actual was concerned that the outside one would not turn out because I realized that I took it with and ISO of 800, but miraculously it is not grainy at all.

Looking out the WindowHolding the Baby

1. Looking out the Window: 05-25-11; Bannack, Montana; f/3.5; 1/320; Canon T1i; M
2. Holding the Baby: 05-25-11; Bannack Montana; f/3.5; 1/800; Canon T1i; M
These Portraits were taken in the Saloon. The lighting was so beautiful and the models were so great and photogenic. I used the air brush tool a little bit and I did my usual camera raw edits, usually increasing the contrast and clarity and saturation a little and corrected the exposure as needed.
